This is an excellent series of 4 videos created by a very intelligent woman who has schizophrenia. The factual knowledge that she conveys is 95% correct. It is so refreshing to see an introduction to schizophrenia given by a compassionate, well-informed individual who, herself, has schizophrenia.
These videos should be a reminder to us all that, on medication, an individual with schizophrenia is usually nonpsychotic and very willing to make a significant contribution to society.
All too often, videos on schizophrenia only portray individuals with schizophrenia when they very ill. This leaves the false impression that schizophrenia is incurable, and that individuals with schizophrenia are permanently psychotic. The truth is that, on antipsychotic medication, the majority of individuals with schizophrenia are free of psychosis and depression.
