In Ireland mental health is not given much priority. That sounds harsh i know and probably not everyone would agree with me, but i think the professionals don't put much of an emphasis on the person helping themselves by means of self exploration in therapy.
Instead, perscribing drugs are considered enough in themselves, along with a monthly visit to a psychiatrist. I think weekly or forthnightly meetings should be provided with a therapist to help ppl work through past/present issues/events.
