Suicide thoughts alway make me get help. I went to a therapist in my 20's because I had those thoughts. It took two relapses of severe paranoia and three grand mal seizure to finally make me start looking for help. My father forced me to go to a therapist over a year ago. I didn't want to go. I go ever two weeks and I am now getting ready to talk. I have never really tried suicide but I have taken to many aspirin and gotten into multiple car accidents from being real careless.
If the person's suicidal thoughts or other tendencies are believed to be of a dangerous nature, follow-up is likely to be immediate with admission to the hospital.
If someone is admitted to the hospital because of suicidal thoughts, he or she undergoes extensive evaluation by a psychiatrist and is often started on medication and scheduled for follow-up counseling with a therapist.
