When I was first diagnosed with schizophrenia I was put on olanzapine and haldol, I felt like a zombie! sure I wasnt having any bad thoughts but I didnt feel human. After two months the doctor switched to to risperdal and it was a big improvement. My only complaint is my low sex drive but I guess all anti pycho drugs do that.
Hi my name is Jayne I'm 20 years old and I have a father who has been living with paranoid schizphrenia for about 20 years. He is currently on Fluanxol and lithium, but isn't finding that the fluanxol is working very well and causing uncontrollable twitching of nerves. His doctor has suggested that he change to clozapine, but my father went toxic on it about 4 years ago and almost died. (smart doc hey ) My father asked if I could find some good information for him on the internet about risperdal so he could try to convince his doctor to put him back on it, but all I've been able to find is all the bad side effects, and warnings to not take it. I was wondering if you knew anything more about it, and if you could tell me more about how much better you felt. I would appreciate it very much and my father would too. Thanks
When I was first put on RIsperdal (my first visit to a Psychiatrist I did not even know there was a such thing as Schizophrenia as for about every other thing In mental Health. But now I learned and still am to my knowledge as always!
