Hello Mothers/ those expecting and those ladies thinking of having a child while on Zyprexa, Serequel and for that matter, any of the antipsychotic medications.. I so need to hear your voices while I am making this huge decision to have a child ! Your input is so important to me and is a blessing. I have been to see a Reproductive Psychiatrist 3 times and asked my own Psychiatrist is it ok to be forming a child inside of us while on these meds ? They say yes, it is ok, but they also say there are no formal studies done on this because of the risks I suppose. My doctor says he has met a few of the children of patients on these drugs and they seem to be fine. So if you had a child while on Zyprexa or Serequel could you please tell me about the child's health ?? It would just ease my mind that much more to have input from parents. Could you please tell me the age of your child as well and if they check out to be healthy. Ooh one last thing...were you able to nurse your infant as well ? If you see this and think you should shed light on this topic, for me, please do ! Sincerely, Sarah |

i don't know about the effects of having children on those, but i know the way both those meds effected me while i was on them, and i can't imagine what they could do to a fetus. and if you have mental illness, the chances of it being inherited by your child are around 65% anyway. the only thing i know personally are the effects of high doses of fertility drugs on a fetus, because i was concieved on approx. 4x my mother's prescribed amount, and i have had schizophrenia ever since i was a child. i'm sorry if i'm sounding negative, but i hate to see a child coming into the world with chemicals and artificial components in there system, from a very darwinistic standpoint, it is these things that start to cause genetic mutations and seperation of one species into another. i wish you the best of luck in having a healthy beautiful child, but i just hope you can get all the information you need sorted out before the child is conceived. |
