Hi I take 20mg's in the morning and now only get down when it makes sense. I take it with other medication and it kind of rounds out the table it's such a small dose, but I think I'm on the perfect dose for me.I was afraid of the stigmatism about it in the late 90's but my Pdoc insured me that I wouldn't "kill" anyone, and I haven't over the last 5 yrs I been taking it.Prozac really works for me Pat

hey Pat!

Prozac is the only antidepressant that worked for me. I tried manerix, wellbutrin and paxil. Paxil was just plain nasty to get off of. A real clinger to the neurons. Manerix I got very cranky on. Wellbutrin was too mild. Prozac worked ever since the beginning but it gives me very vivid dreams. I take 40 mg. Vicky

i've tried prozac and it did nothing for me. when i had severe lack of motivation, i tried it to stimulate me to get out of bed. it didn't work, not in making me more stimulated or alert. i haven't been depressed so i was just using it for non-anti-depressive properties.

i'm so glad it's work for u two.

prozac was the absolute worst antidepressant for me it was a really really bad scary experience for me. It was the first drug that was tried for my depression. It made my depression worse and left me in such a confused state i was actually thinking that i could just suicide and then the next day id wake up and be ok when i was on it. lucky for me i realized those thoughts were not right and stopped taking it. then i was on wellbutrin after and though it gave me some energy it didnt help the depression much becuase i still kept having suicidal thoughts almost daily while on it. now im on doxepin and its helped my depression a lot but it seems to be worsening my other problems. I think your lucky it works for you and didnt affect you the way prozac affected me but i would tell almost anyone considering it not to take it until theyd tried any and every other med first if anyone asked me because of my own experience on it.

I'm with Vickytoria on this one. Prozac has been the only antidepressant that worked for me. I've tried a couple of other ones, but they didn't work. Pat, I also take 20mg in the morning. I've gradually reduced it to 20mg from 60mg. Because the antipsychotic that I'm taking is Loxapine and together with Lithium metabolizes as an antidepressant. No kiddin', really. So I've had to take less antidepressants because my body automatically metabolizes it. Pretty cool. God bless, Cindy

I usually take less dosage of antidepressants as I always feel that they will have side effects. But If at all there is necessity I always prefer prozac due to its more positive result.

I have been on Prozac for only about 2 and a half weeks and I I already have significant results. I take it for Panic disorder and I have less fear now. It's amazing. I have had no severe side effects except lowered sex drive, not sure if this is common on Prozac.
