They do x-rays to rule out the possibility of it being something other than a mental illness 'causing the symptoms. I was told that I had no brain damage or anything, so it was determined that it was mental illness. I figure I've got a harder head than most people.
When I was 2 I fell down cement stairs and cracked my skull in 3 places. Ended up in the hospital with some sort of bad infection. They also took pictures of my brain but they said it was OK.
When I was about 10 or so, I was running through the showers to get to the swimming pool, and I slipped on the tile floor and landed on the back of my head. It was one of those wipe-outs where I could see my 2 feet stretched out in front of me and I seemed to hover in the air. I was in an in and out of conscious state, and I was dreaming in and out of consciousness.
I have temporal lobe damage from being born which causes the psychosis and a type of fit.I am on anti convulsants for that and major depressive disorder because it took so long for them to figure it out.
