More and more of my circle of friends know that I am diagnosed schizophrenic.
I've told where I volunteer, my co-volunteerers, recently changed my Facebook information to show that I am diagnosed with schizophrenia, I tried to join a local psychiatric survivor's group, my family knows, my extended family knows too I think, my close friends know, and are very accepting, no questions or judgement, just listening...
It hasn't been a celebration or a party, except personally, but I feel that my experience has been very neutral...

A lot has been said about disclosing. I rarely tell people, but for various reasons I think that most of the people I deal with already know. All of the people I am close to definitely know. One important question is whether to reveal your illness to your employer. My human resources department knows but I have never told any co-workers that I have schizophrenia. But I think they know.

Back into the closet I go recently!
I had the opportunity or the challenge to describe what it is that I do or whatever, and I could not bring myself to step forward and announce that I was schizophrenic.
This was in a casual social setting, as far as I could tell.
Still unemployed, but I have a government retirement nest egg and my dad knocks out my credit card bills sometimes.
Whatever, lol -Medicated

I told more people over the internet of my diagnosis.
Some individuals responded with their own diagnosis, others were inquisitive.
That's pretty cool that you tell the majority, Chelle.
My psychiatrist told me the best thing I can do is flourish, and to fight the stigma attached with my diagnosis.
