Be careful with Clozaril/Clozapine.
You have to be hospitalized and under 'watch' and close scrutiny while going through this medication, until its effect kicks in after two or so weeks.
Like any med - it may be successful - it may be not.
I tried it anyway from and without medical surveillance, as an out - not an in-patient, after a pdoc recommended it to me, and it had disastrous effect, as I was taken out of olanzapine in lieu of this medication. I became more delirious, and psychotic - it is worth mentioning I was on a relatively low dosage of this med - 275mgs - and it almost did me in.......
Clozapine can have a disastrous effect on lowering white blood cells, which may permanently damage our bodily function and reduce the effectiveness of our immune system. One needs regular blood tests on this med, like Lithium, except, here - it measures our organism's sensitivity, and not 'metal' count. Be advised - Clozaril - no matter what fame it has in countering the effect of schizophrenia- can actually, quite possibly, be an antagonist to therapeutic recovery. And remember the every-two-weeks blood tests to see if your organism is holding out...... |
