Hi Nancy,The problem seems to be getting the different mental health agencies to return your phone calls.
One thing that often works is to personally go to the mental health agency and ask the receptionist for an appointment. Your face-to-face personal request will be very difficult for them to refuse.
At least that way you are not left waiting for them to return your call. In getting an appointment, it is the squeaky wheel that definitely gets the oil.
Some of these mental health resources will need a referral from a physician. Thus you may want to go personally to ask your doctor*s receptionist to give you an earlier appointment. You will have to tell her why this earlier appointment is so important.
Usually, once you are in the mental health system, the system works. The biggest problem is gaining access to this system.
Good luck with your new face-to-face approach.
