I have been taking Seroquel since being in hospital 7 months ago. I was taking 8 mg. Stelazine before I went in, and was put on 150 mg. of Seroquel as well at night. Before I left hospital I was told to slowly go off of my Stelazine, which I did, but got sicker. Then, I had extremely vivid dreams, and was irritable, so I went down to 100 mg., then to 50 mg. on the Seroquel, along with the 8 mg. Stelazine. (I told my doctor about this). Now I seem to have trapezius ridge pain and neck pain. I started yoga in January, along with massage therapy and hot baths, and this seems to be helping. Just wondering if anyone else has had muscle pain with Seroquel. I saw in the drug reference section of this site that there is an article on Seroquel and diffuse muscle pain, so maybe it IS the Seroquel. Can't seem to stop taking it completely, 'cause I can't get to sleep without it! Anyone else have trouble with getting off Seroquel? ShrinkingViolet |

Hi there! Lately I've been a bit stressed, so my doc said to either increase my Stelazine or my Seroquel. I went up from 25 or 50 mg. before bed, to 75 mg., and I find that it makes me feel much more relaxed. So far I haven't had increased muscle pain & am making an effort not to increase my food intake, in fact, I'm trying to lose a few pounds. I'm going to try this for a while and see what happens. I see my psychiatrist in a couple of weeks, so I'll let her know then how it's going. What side effects have you had from Seroquel, if any? At first I had such vivid dreams that I almost went off of it, but just cut back a bit and they went away. I'm worried about weight gain. Also, as I said, the muscle pain. I see a registered massage therapist once a week and find that this helps tremendously. Also, hot baths and a very low dose of clonazepam. I'm wondering if one of the anticonvulsants would work, like it did (procyclidine) many years ago for akathesia from the Stelazine.
