I've asked for help, and theyve threatened to send me to the hospital. My counselor told me in September of 06 that I have signs of schizophrenia...and I didnt want to accept it...but then in November I decided, and every symptom except 2 was exactly how I acted. I told my mom but she said that I'm just a drama queen. I want help, I'm able to accept how I am. We already know for sure that I do have BPD [my dad has anti-social personality disorder...and ran off when I was a year old] and my counselor is trying to help me. I'm afraid of what I'll do to myself, ever since the 4th grade I was self destructive, and they found out a year later. I just want to know whats wrong. Any suggestions on how to tell my family? |

If you are an adult tehn I agree with Malasha. The best way not to have someone call you a drama queen is don't act dramatic. Maybe later, when you have your condition under good control you can tell your mom what steps you are taking, but you are an adult, and you can handle this without her help.
I am sorry about your dad. It may be that the pain he casued your mom makes her a little agro when you staret telling her that there is something wrong with you. Try not to take it too hard, and listen to your counselor. She seems to be the voice of reason in this situation
